Beat of the Traps (1992) is a multidisciplinary performance by Mike Kelley, Anita Pace, and Stephen Prina. The work combines dance, percussion, a rock drum solo, and a vaudevillian monologue about rock-star excess with the Billboard Hot 100’s top song from the time of its original performance.The Los Angeles presentation features Abbott Alexander, Jon Baldwin, Freeda Electra, M.B. Gordy, and Butch Norton, with direction by Pace and Prina.
