Egyptologist Kathryn Howley examines the cultural relationship between ancient Egypt and Nubia, the region corresponding largely to present-day Sudan. The talk focuses on the Kushite rulers who governed Egypt for nearly a century and uses archaeological evidence to trace Nubian contributions that continued to shape Egyptian culture after Kushite rule ended.Howley is an Egyptologist whose research explores the art and material culture of Egypt and Nubia, including their connections through fieldwork at Sanam Temple in Sudan.
